Basic course
In the basis course you will discover the basic elements of language education based on Comprehensible Input. You will learn how to use the target language as communication tool and how to make and keep it all comprehensible to your students.
On day 1 you will kick off with TPR (Total Physical Response), an active and inviting activity to introduce new vocabulary. You will also learn how to create a character for stories to co-xcreate with your students, as a start-up of TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling, course day 2).
On day 2 you will learn in 3 steps how to co-create a story with your students (TPRS) and you will practice gestures as a way to increase comprehension.
On day 3 you will engage in reading strategies and various ways to teach grammar in a brain friendly way.
On day 4 you will learn how to prepare and hold conversations in the target language (PQA) and you will start planning your lessons and your curriculum.
Expansion course
Have you completed the basic course and have mastered the basic techniques of teaching with communicative comprehensible input (CI)? Do you feel that teaching based on natural acquisition suits you and you wish to complete your CI-toolbox? Than this expansion course is just what you need.
On day 1 you will learn how to interact with your students in the target language about an interesting picture (Picture Talk). You will learn how to inspire your students to look beyond the picture and to share their thoughts and opinions. Furthermore you will discover Caslendar Talk, a fun and informative way to start your lessons with the days of the week, the dates, interesting events and the weather.
On day 2 you will get started with a short video (Clip Chat) where you will be interacting in the target language with your students about what's happening and about what might happen next in the video. Furthermore you will get a lot of ideas and incpiration for brain breaks (energizers) and body breaks.
Workshops
In the (online) workshops you can get introduced to the basics of language teaching with Comprehensible Input.
These workshops are all about practical activities that you can apply immediately in your classroom.
